about us

Tranen Pty Ltd was founded in 1992 as an engineering consulting company. In 2002 our primary focus shifted to revegetating, rehabilitating, and restoring natural ecosystems around the south-west of Australia using native species, so we adopted the trading name Tranen Revegetation Systems.

Most revegetation projects have the ultimate aim of restoring a site to its original condition, but due to climate change, cost and time pressures, and other factors, often complete restoration is not a desired, realsitic or cost-effective goal. No matter what the constraints, Tranen will create and implement the best possible program to deliver or exceed the required outcomes for your project.

Two other “r”s that are of prime importance to us are relationships and research:

Our preferred mode of operation is to build close working relationships and trust with our clients, and our volume of repeat business is proof that our customers appreciate this. We prefer revegetation projects where we have full responsibility, preferably from the early design stage, through to implementation and subsequent monitoring and maintenance until the completion criteria are achieved. This provides us with full control of the outcomes, both in the short and long term.

Research, on projects for clients, of our own initiative, and with industry associations, has always been very important to us in our quest for continuous improvement and efficiency in all aspects of our operations. The natural environment is complex and difficult to predict, but through research we gain further understanding of the dynamic processes involved, and can apply this knowledge to our projects.

Our field work is seasonal, with seeding and planting from around May to August and seed collection from around October to March. That's not to say that we are quiet in the off-seasons, as there is always plenty of maintenance and design work to do, as well as taking time out to update our procedures in the light of recent experience.
