monitoring
Monitoring of revegetation is essential throughout the establishment period
to track progress towards project goals and identify early any potential
factors that may influence the outcome, both in the short and long term.
This information can then be used to quantify progress (in comparison with
the completion criteria) and determine whether maintenance action is
required. Tranen not only monitors its own projects, but can provide
third-party assessment reports and recommendations for projects implemented
by others.
The frequency and level of monitoring is tailored to suit each particular
project. Information that may be collected during a typical monitoring event
may include some or all of the following:
• photographic records;
• species present (native and weed);
• stem density and species representation;
• seed germination and planted seedling survival rates;
• plant height, growth, and health
assessments; and
• general observations of factors
influencing progress, such as unauthorised access, vandalism, fire, soil
erosion, predation, rubbish depostion, and pests etc.
Tranen has extensive experience in all aspects of monitoring to meet the
requirements of local, state and federal government and other bodies.
