seed bank
Tranen maintains a seed bank for storage of its customers' seeds. These are
kept in a separate facility to Tranen's own seed stocks, and are managed
through a separate database. As at May 2010 we are storing seeds for 28
clients, mostly utilities, local government, land developers and other
clients who have engaged us to collect seeds on their behalf.
Details of all seeds kept in our bank are stored in our custom database.
Reports can be easily generated from the database, such as stock on hand or
withdrawal reports for seed tracking.
We charge a fixed annual fee to cover our storage and general administrative
costs, and modest transaction fees to cover our costs of processing deposits
and withdrawals.
This service particularly suits local government, where seeds may be
collected by "friends of" and community groups, as they can rest assured
that the seeds are stored under appropriate conditions, and that records
kept up to date, irrespective of changes to or availability of personnel in the
friends or community groups.
